Materials That You Need For Buttermilk White Cake

  • 4 egg whites
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup buttermilk or sour milk*
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 recipe Buttercream Frosting
  • 2 cups coconut chips or flaked coconut

  • 3/4 cup softened butter
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk or milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3 1/4 cups powdered sugar

Preparation of Buttermilk White Cake

Start by pre heat oven to 350F.
Let egg whites to stand room temperature for 30 minutes.

Take two 9-inch round baking pans, grease and flour the bottom of two of them.

Take a large mixing bowl; mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and baking soda well. Then beat on low buttermilk, shortening, and vanilla in it; until all of them well combined. Continue beat on medium for 2 more minutes. Then add egg whites and beat it for 2 more minutes.

Pour this mixture into pans equally. Bake this cake for 25-30 minutes until the inserted toothpick comes out clean. Cool the cake into pan for 10 minutes. Then remove from the pan and leave it for cooling completely.

Now, it is time to prepare Buttercream Frosting.  Take a mixing bowl and beat butter on medium until it becomes smooth. Gradually add sugar and beat in butter. Then add buttermilk or milk and vanilla. Into this mixture and beat them. To adjust the consistencies gradually add and beat powdered sugar.

Take first cake and spread on it with some of frosting. Then place the second cake. Frost top and sides properly and smooth. Sprinkle coconut all over the cake for good appearance. Your buttermilk white cake is ready to serve.
