Caramel Layer Cake Recipe
Caramel Layer Cake is a delicious cake with aroma of caramel. Caramel is favorite flavor of many people. If you are one of them, you should try this recipe. Caramel Layer Cake is proper for celebrations and also can be good for wedding anniversary cake.
Materials That You Need For Caramel Layer Cake
For preparation of the cake
2 cups white sugar
1 cup butter, room temperature
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
3 cups (12¾ oz.) all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon and ½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1¼ cup milk (I used 2%, use whatever you have)
For preparation of buttercream
3 sticks + 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature
3 cups confectioners’ sugar, sifted
3 tablespoons milk or cream
1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
½ cup caramel sauce + ¼ cup for assembly (homemade or store bought is fine)
Preparation of Caramel Layer Cake
Pre heat oven 350F and take two 8-9 inch round cake pans. Grease and flour the bottoms.
Take sugar and butter in medium mixing bowl and cream them until mixture becomes fluffy for 3-4 minutes. Add the eggs one by one and beat after every addition. Then add vanilla and stir.
Take flour, salt and baking powder in another bowl and combine them. Then add this mixture into batter and make mixture smooth. Pour it equally to pans and bake for 30-40 minutes.
Whip butter for 8 minutes in a bowl of electric mixer until butter becomes pale and take creamy texture.
Add other ingredients but do not add caramel. Mix on low speed 1 minute and increase medium speed continue 4 minutes more. Then add caramel and mix for 2 more minutes
Take one of the cake. Spread ¼ cup of reserved caramel on top and spread 1 cup of frosting. Then place the second cake. Spread remaining frosting all over the cake. Drizzle with caramel on top for decoration.
