Materials That You Need For Trifle Cake :
For Preparation of Syrup

  • Grated zest of 1 orange
  • Juice of 2 oranges
  • 3 tbsp of caster sugar
  • 2 tbsp of Grand Marnier or Cointreau

For Preparation of Cake

  • Small panettone
  • 800ml (32fl oz) whipped cream
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 2tbsp caster sugar
  • 2 punnets raspberries
  • Toasted flaked almonds, for decoration of cake

Preparation of Trifle Cake

Start with the preparation of the delicious syrup. Take zest, juice and sugar in a small sauce pan and heat for bring them to boil. Stir the mixture to dissolve sugar. Simmer the mixture for 1 more minute then leave it to cool. Then stir in the alcohol.

Take panettone and remove the paper of it and trim off to discard the top. Cut it into 3-4 rounds and drizzle the syrup on each round. Also you can use brush to spread syrup too.

Then take another mixing bowl, add cream, orange zest and caster sugar in it. Beat all of them together until it becomes soft.

Take one of the cake round and place on a service plate. This will be the first layer of the cake. Cover top with whipped cream. And place the 1/3 of strawberries. Then add second cake round. Drizzle with remained syrup, pour whipped cream and strawberries like the same. Finally, place the last cake round. Cover all around the cake with cream. Decorate with remaining strawberries and toasted almonds as you wish. You can serve immediately if you want. Or you can wait it for chilling 2 hours before you serve.
